This 2006 Elddis Crusader Super Storm 6 berth, is a very high spec caravan with a flexible double lounge layout, with rear bunks and centrally located kitchen and washroom, giving lots of space for families and allowing the kids to have their own bedroom. It's perfect for siting on a seasonal pitch as an alternative to a static caravan or holiday home. The caravan also comes with many of the accessories required to start caravanning. This Elddis Crusader Super Storm has some signs of use inside, commensurate with the age of the caravan. It is priced accordingly, making it an excellent value starter caravan.
The 2006 Crusader had the highest levels of specification available in the Elddis range and the model was further updated for this particular year, giving the exterior a makeover and adding modern graphics and privacy windows, resulting a caravan which still has a stylish and modern appearance today. The spacious layout, which lends itself to multiple uses and its high levels of internal equipment and trim make it an excellent purchase on the secondhand market.
Built on a BPW Swing V-Tech chassis, with gloss white aluminium sidewalls, black and chrome aero graphics and gloss white full-height front and rear panels, the external equipment of the 2006 Crusader features a modified A frame, easy action handbrake, heavy duty corner steadies, and handy additions such as a external gas bbq point and external 230v socket.
The 2 piece Hartel door leads to the Crusader's well-appointed interior once inside the Super Storm, this caravan has an immediate feeling of space. The lounge has deep comfortable sofas, upholstered in attractive Bekhaert M fabric in dark blue and beige arranged in an L-shape for maximum living space: perfect for a relaxing family time. It can be used as two single beds or a large double utilising a pull out slat system. There is plenty of storage in the overhead aircraft style lockers and also under the seats. All of the furniture in the Super Storm is finished in attractive Montreal Maple and there is a TV point with 230v, 12v and aerial sockets. The large Heki roof light creates an airy and light feel to the living area. There are also deep-pile carpets laid over a wood-block vinyl floor. There furniture is contrasted by black control panels, and light switches which are stylish and functional.
As you would expect, there is a well-appointed kitchen with a large 3 way Dometic fridge, separate freezer compartment and Montreal Maple veneer door. There is a Spinflo 3 burner hob with high speed multifunction burner as well as a Prima MK3 oven and grill, a microwave, ensuring that everything from a full evening meal to a cooked breakfast can be catered for. There is an Argent stainless steel sink in linen effect, which comes with a chopping board and removable drainer, which clips to the shatterproof glass lid. There is ample food and utensil storage, with worktops finished in silver grey granite effect. One of the worktops has sustained slight damage and has been covered with a chopping board but this does not detract from the appearance of the kitchen area and could be rectified quite cheaply if required. A bi-directional extractor fan is situated above the cooker.
Opposite the kitchen area is a wardrobe and below this, the Truma heater. The Elddis Crusader Super Storm also has it's washroom in the centre of the caravan, and is equipped with a spacious shower cubicle with a chrome finished mixer tap and shower head. There is a Thetford c-250 cassette toilet (with electric flush), sink, mirror and ample storage.
In the rear of the caravan, a second lounge with seating and dining space for 4 by day, can be used as a fixed double bed, or as 2 single beds, or bunks for 4 children, utilising the fold out bunks which sit behind the seat backs. This clever arrangement provides a huge amount of extra living, dining space, and also gives other occupants their own bedroom, complete with privacy curtain. The rear lounge also features more overhead lockers for additional storage and there is further storage space under the bench seating.
The windows, including the stylish Seitz flush fitting side windows, roof lights and stable door all come with fly screen and blackout blinds.
The Truma water heater and Truma heating system can be run off gas or electric. The heater has both space heater and blown air functionality and this, combined with Grade 2 thermal insulation, enables the Elddis Crusader Super Storm to be used year-round for caravanning holidays.
