Bailey Pegasus S3 Rimini
Year: 2016
Berth: 4

The 2016 Bailey Pegasus Rimini Series 3 is an ultra-modern high spec, luxury caravan with a very desirable layout featuring twin single beds and an end washroom in a four-berth tourer that rides on a single axle.  This layout is popular with couples and families of four alike, because it offers real flexibility: adults who prefer to sleep separately can use the twin single beds while younger kids share the large made-up double bed in front; or if the kids are no longer prepared to share, they can occupy the single beds.  This Rimini is a one owner from new caravan which has been used occasionally and has been stored undercover with us from new.  It is in exceptional, 'as new' condition: the caravan is unmarked outside or inside.

This caravan has the majority of the manufacturers 6 year bodyshell integrity guarantee and 3 year component warranty remaining, providing real piece of mind for a new owner.  It also has an up to date warranty service history.

Bailey's 2016 Pegasus range continued to embody Bailey's philosphy of coming superior performance with award-winning design and value for money.  The result was Bailey's next generation of Pegasus models, which Bailey stated "took caravan design to the next level in terms of practicality and desirability."

The Pegasus range is built using Bailey’s Alu-Tech system, which uses a structural interlocking aluminium extrusion framework with a five-part bonded exterior panel assembly.  This technology removes the exterior fixing points and wooden framework which are danger points for water ingress on traditionally constructed caravans.  The impact resistant, single sheet tough GRP-skinned walls and the combination of its Polar White sidewalls, white front and rear panels and striking red graphics, resulting in a caravan which is attractive and thoroughly modern, whether pitched on a site or towed on the road.  Grade 3 thermal insulation gives the owner the ability to genuinely use the caravan year round.

Externally, the front and rear panels share the up to date Bailey design features, incorporating the vertical skylight at the front and rounded sections where the panels meet the roof.  Bailey says these substantially reduce drag and, therefore, improve fuel economy when being towed.  The Pegasus is built on Al-Ko chassis and running gear and has been fitted with  premium extras, including an AKS 3004 stabiliser, Al-Ko ATC Trailer Control, 14" alloy wheels, and exterior 230v socket and wond-down spare wheel carrier.  For the Pegasus, Bailey chose to relocate the gas locker from the front of the tourer to the offside, thereby reducing the noseweight and improving towing stability.  The handbrake is gas-assisted and the A-frame fairing has step-on pads to make for easier cleaning of the window and the panels above it.  With regard to the corner steadies, there is a clear groove in the sills to access the winding nuts of the front steadies, and the rear ones are tucked beneath the moulded bumper.  The battery box, which also houses the mains inlet point, is in a nearside locker and, towards the rear, there’s an external access hatch to the storage space beneath the nearside single bed, which is fitted with a handy plastic tray. On the offside, the gas locker is slightly forward of the axle and there is space for two gas bottles.

The drain taps are together to the rear of the axle as well and are equipped with rigid pipes and the Truma Ultraflow water inlet point is also here. Access to the Thetford cassette is via the caravan’s rear panel and the toilet has a separate flush tank.

A Hartel 2 piece door leads to the attractive and high-spec interior.  At the front, two double glazed windows sit either side of a double-glazed vertical front window which, combined wih an opening curved sunroof and a Heki rooflight, ensures that the lounge is bright, airy and well ventilated at all times.  The styling throughout the Pegasus is pleasant and modern.  A deep, full-width shelf beneath the front window conceals a slide-out occasional table and storage drawers.  The Pegasus is fitted with overhead lockers in Mendip Ash, with dual-finish Italian design doors and chrome fittings.  The two bench seats feature multi-layered foam filling for enhanced comfort when sitting or sleeping and are upholstered in attractive Richmond fabric with coordinated curtain and scatter cushions.  Both sofa backrests have a backboard to separate them from the GRP interior walls and thereby reduce the likelihood of condensation building up in cold weather.  At night, the seats can be made into a large double using the 'easy-glide' slat system.  In the lounge, there are heating vents and one 230V socket fitted in opposite seat boxes.   For mealtimes, a freestanding table has its own dedicated storage space in the wardrobe, and four adults can enjoy a comfortable meal around the table.  The lounge features a radio/CD/MP3 player with aux socket.

The lighting provided in the lounge comprises a mixture of ambient lighting, LED feature and pelmet lights, and reading lights beneath the overhead lockers which illuminate the living space very well.  All the windows have Remis pleated blinds and flyscreens as standard, while the lower half of the stable-style entrance door is fitted with a moulded waste bin as well as a flyscreen. Heating comes courtesy of Truma’s dual-fuel Combi heater, operated via Bailey's CP+ control panel, which features an easy to use rotary knob and digital display.

Moving back through the Pegasus, the kitchen is very well-appointed.  Circular LED spotlights illuminate the galley and there are additonal LEDs under the pelmets.  The worksurface is a good size and features an extra fold out work-top; there a large cupboard beneath the worktop, and another cupboard beneath the combined oven and grill.
The kitchen features a circular stainless-steel sink with chrome mixer tap, washing up bowl drainer and chopping board, and dual fuel a three-burner gas hob with 800w hotplate is on the right.  The microwave fitted in the Pegasus is a stainless steel 800w model set at eye level.   The domestic-style Thetford Caprice combined oven and grill ensures meals can be prepared as quickly and efficiently as at home. A new design Dometic 133-litre tower fridge/freezer completes the kitchen, and is faced with a panel to match the rest of the caravan’s décor. There are also two mains electric sockets tucked just beneath the overhead lockers.
Further back, the bedroom features two fixed beds, one 1.8m long and the other 1.9m, and both are 68cm wide. There is a 14cm ledge at the head of each that is about level with the mattress. It can be used as a shelf or to extend the bed.  The bed frame lift up on gas struts to access a large storage space beneath. The Truma Combi boiler is under the fixed offside bed, the base of which stays up when raised.  The nearside fixed single bed houses the spare wheel and a useful wet tray, which can be accessed externally via a generous locker door.  The bed sizes are as follows: front double: 6’3’’ x 4’4’’ or front singles: 5’3’’ x 2’2’’.  In the rear, nearside rear fixed single: 6'3" x 2'4", offside rear fixed single: 6'0" x 2'4".
At the very back of the Pegasus, a domestic-style door, featuring a locking handle, leads to the washroom.  A small clear window and rooflight take care of ventilation. The swivelling Thetford c-260 toilet has an electric flush, and the two lights are operated by a pull cord just inside the door.  There is a washbasin with chrome finish mixer tap, set into a vanity unit, and a wardrobe for clothes storage.  The shower is generously sized and comes with an Ecocamel showerhead fixed in a high-level bracket. The shower has a folding, rigid partition door, and is lined with the same GRP featured throughout the rest of the van. The shower tray has a single plug drain, and a vent overhead.
