Coachman Laser 650-4

If you’re on a budget but looking for the ultimate in luxurious and spacious caravanning, this 2008 Coachman Laser 650-4 with it’s fixed island bed layout should be top of your list to view.

The Coachman Laser 650-4 is a large twin-axle, top specification, 4 berth caravan with a large lounge, central kitchen, fixed island bed and separate shower and toilet, on either side of the caravan.

This sought after 2008 Laser 650–4 model is rare on the secondhand market, complete with all the manuals, documents and CrIS registration.  The size and living space of this big tourer makes it perfect for use as a large touring caravan for a couple or a family, as a seasonal pitch alternative to a static caravan or holiday home, or for live-in accommodation.

It will be cleaned inside and out by us and will be fully serviced and damp-checked by an independent approved caravan workshop, with the service report available to view, for complete peace of mind. It also comes with most of the accessories required to start holidaying in this caravan (details to be confirmed)

Coachman owners have come to expect luxury, and Coachman described the 2008 Laser as “The best of the best”. The 650/4, with its island bed was a new model, designed to be a family caravan which doesn’t compromise on space in any area.

Externally, upgrades such as the phantom tracker alarm system, heavy duty corner steadies, AL-KO secure wheel locks and AL-KO ATC Trailer Control indicate that this caravan doesn’t skimp on equipment. Thicker aluminium sides, finished in gloss polar white are set off by attractive graphite and silver decals as well as Vortex graphite alloy wheels, ensuring that the Laser has a commanding presence whether towed on the road or when pitched. Acrylic capped full height ABS front and rear panels, 45mm thick floor, laminated roof and grade 3 thermal insulation ensures that this is a caravan which is easy to keep looking nice, whilst remaining warm inside, even in the depths of winter. There is a large front locker, LED awning light, external Gas BBQ socket, external 240V socket, steel spare wheel (in Al-ko underslung carrier) and Al-ko chassis with 3004 stabiliser. There is a 13 pin DIN standard socket to connect to the car towing electrics. On the roof of the caravan is a Status 530 directional aerial to ensure you pick up a good signal wherever you are.

Once inside, at the front of the Laser, the lounge has deep comfortable sofas and is perfect for relaxing or enjoying a meal with family or friends using the dining table provided. It has two single beds or a large double utilising a pull out slat system. There is also a chest of drawers with a small ‘pull out’ table, and if a larger table is required there is a 'fold out' dining table which has its own stowage within the kitchen cupboard. There is plenty of storage in the overhead aircraft style lockers, which are finished with metallic trim, and also under the seats. 3 double glazed, poly plastic windows combine with the large Heki 2 panoramic roof light to create an airy and light feel to the living area. The upholstery is finished in luxury neutral fabric and is complemented by matching scatter cushions and curtains. The loose-fit carpets are laid over a luxurious floor covering. Discreetly fitted within one of the overhead lockers is the branded entertainment system with remote control, radio, CD, MP3 player, ipod connectivity and a DVD player (with playback routed to the two TV points - one in the lounge and one between the mid-section and the bedroom).

The windows, roof lights and door all come with flyscreen and blackout blinds and the side and rear windows are flush-fitting Seitz cassette units.

Moving back through the Laser, there is a well-appointed kitchen with 3 way 107l Thetford fridge (with 11-litre freezer compartment, electronic ignition and digital controls) and black Thetford Caprice oven, grill, and 4 ring gas hob with electric ignition and flame failure. There is ample food and utensil storage. An Omnivent extractor roof light is situated above the cooker.

This large twin axle caravan's main distinguishing feature is a luxurious fixed island double bed (located in a bedroom at the very rear of the caravan), which means that caravanners who need to get up in the night no longer have to climb over each other!  The bedroom has a fixed bed with a 'superior' pocket sprung mattress for total sleeping comfort. The slatted base has gas supports which allow access to a large storage compartment under the bed. There are wardrobes and ample storage on either side of the bed. Above both sides of the bed are LED reading lights and a Heki 2 panoramic roof light is set above the bed adding to a feeling of space and enables star gazing directly from your bed on a balmy summers night.

A fixed bed usually means compromising with a small bathroom but not in the Laser 650-4. The washroom facilities have been split into 2 on either side of the caravan, with the Thetford c-250 toilet and washbasin/vanity unit in a cubicle on the nearside of the caravan and the shower cubicle featuring a chrome mixer tap and showerhead on the offside.  The benefit of this arrangement is threefold: occupants at either end of the caravan can access the washroom facilities without disturbing each other. Secondly, unlike combined washrooms, the toilet can still be used when the shower is occupied.  Thirdly, at night-time, the occupants in the bedroom can use the toilet as an en-suite.

Heating and hot water is supplied by the Truma Ultra store water heater and the Truma 3002 heating system can be run off gas or electric. The heater has both space heater and blown air functionality, which combined with the grade 3 thermal insulation, means this caravan can be used year-round.

In summary, the Coachman Laser 650-4 is a spacious, luxurious top of the range tourer, with a very desirable layout, at a fantastic price.  All it will need is for you to take it on its next exciting caravanning holiday!
