Since 1981, Boardmasters has been the biggest international professional surf contest and festival in the UK. Over the last 35 years the contest has attracted the biggest names in world surfing as well as some of the biggest music acts. A brand new festival, taking place on the 30th June - 2nd July 2017 and set on the beautiful golden sands of Perranporth beach in Cornwall. Thought to be the oldest Christian site in Cornwall and one of the oldest in Britain, St Piran's Oratory was completely covered by sand for centuries and excavated numerous times before the remains being re-excavated in 2014 to reveal the remains of the church. If you like visiting unusual sites, then make your way to Penhale Sands which are not far from Perranporth. You will see signs to this ancient site & you have to make your way across the sand dunes to reach it. It's is a wild but peaceful place & well worth a visit.
