Technical Specifications:
Swift’s flagship 2010 Challenger models brought new levels of space and luxury to this sought after range and included a host of improvements throughout, including energy-saving soft white LED lighting, shock absorbers, pleated blinds and newly designed locker doors.
This Swift Challenger 580 is in fantastic condition throughout, having been cared for and well-maintained by its owner. The caravan comes complete with a full service history with the most recent service and damp check 17/8/16. It comes complete with all the manuals and instruction booklets.
Built on an Al-Ko chassis, with shock absorbers, and a 2 way gas assisted handbrake, the Challenger 580 has a 2.3m wide body-shell, with 1.95m headroom, maximising the internal living area. This Challenger 580 has a very practical and spacious layout, with a desirable fixed ‘island’ bed, a large bathroom in the middle section of the caravan, a well equipped kitchen and a pull-out double or two single beds in the ‘U-shaped’ lounge at the front of the caravan, all on a single axle.
Three large double glazed panoramic windows, with pleated cassette blinds, ensure that the front lounge section is light and airy. The seats and back rests feature domestic quality springing and the hardwearing ‘Tundra’ design upholstery is matched by lined curtains and luxury 45oz pile carpets over wood-effect flooring. The aircraft-style overhead storage cupboards feature chrome handles and redesigned catches and the lounge incorporates storage under the seats and a collapsible table which is neatly stored in its own recess, comfortably seating 4 people for meals.
Set into the roof of the lounge is a large Heki II panoramic roof light - this gives the lounge plenty of ventilation and light when fully opened. There is a second TV point conveniently sited by the pull out table and chest of drawers. The caravan features energy-saving LED throughout, complimented by mains corner lights, LED downlighter, concealed over locker ambient lighting and LED spot-lights. This gives the well-lit interior of the Challenger an impressive and classy feel, whilst also increasing battery time.
In the middle of the caravan, the well-appointed kitchen has a Thetford dual fuel hob four ring hob (3 x gas with flame-failure protection, 1 x 800w electric hotplate ), with glass hob lid and with a separate thermostatic grill and oven. The kitchen also features a built-in Daewoo 700w microwave oven and a Dometic 107 litre 3-way fridge with a full width ice box, curved door, electronic ignition and digital controls for energy selection and temperature. There is plenty of food/cooking utensil storage space, including a slide out storage rack, ample worktops with down lighting, chrome finish brass mixer tap and . Above the cooking area is a small roof-light.
The bathroom features a spacious lined shower cubicle, a vanity unit with sink, mirror and cupboard and a Thetford c250 cassette toilet with electric flush.
The fixed ‘island’ double bed, which features a high quality ‘Ultra Comfort” sprung mattress, is positioned in the centre of the rear of the caravan, providing room all around the sides of the bed and the bedroom can be partitioned from the rest of the caravan for privacy. The mattress sits on a space frame and lifts up on gas struts, revealing lots of storage underneath, and there is additional space in the overhead aircraft style lockers. There are 2 reading lights positioned over the bed, and a small Heki roof light.
Blown air heating is ducted to the living, sleeping and bathroom areas, with additional heating provided by a dual fuel 3kw gas and 2kw electric space heater with automatic ignition. A dual fuel gas and 800w mains electric storage heater provides hot water for the kitchen and bathroom.

There are also two TV points with 230V, 12V and coax aerial sockets, as well as a roof-mounted directional and telescopic 530 Status aerial (digital compatible). There are also smart ’Storm’ alloy wheels (a spare wheel is stowed in an Al-Ko wheel carrier under the caravan), AL-KO 3004 stabiliser, and an external 240v socket. There is a 13 pin DIN standard socket to connect to the car towing electrics and an external BBQ point.
