Swift's flagship 2008 Challenger 560 combined this layout with increased space and comfort, and modern fittings and equipment, resulting in an attractive and practical caravan which makes an excellent purchase on the secondhand market. Built on an Al-Ko galvanised chassis with one piece, thick gauge aluminium sidewalls, shock absorbers for a smoother towing experience, Al-Ko stabiliser and 13 pin towing socket and finished with high gloss white paintwork and bold, graphite grey modern graphics, externally the Challenger is both modern and striking either on the road or when pitched.
The interior does not disappoint either, with the exclusive double-glazed front window units, combining with a Heki deluxe large tilting panoramic rooflight to ensure a light and airy living space. All the windows are double-glazed and are fitted with blackout blinds and flycreens and feature night-ventilation latches.
The familiar lounge layout consists of two large and comfortable bench seats, in aluminium spaceframe construction, which convert to make either a double bed or 2 single beds, with ample storage underneath. There is a large folding table with its own storage locker providing a comfortable dining experience for 4 adults. There are generous overhead 'aircraft style' storage lockers, also in spaceframe construction, all with positive catches and chrome handles which are finished, like the rest of the furniture, in a warm wood effect. The upholstery is finished in a modern and attractive, muted tone fabric, and this is complemented by matching scatter cushions and curtains. Swift increased the quality of the carpet by 70% for the 2008 range, providing a luxury 45oz pile 'drop in' carpet to cover the hardwearing block effect vinyl floor.
Moving back through the Challenger, the well-appointed kitchen area features a spacious 107 litre fridge with curved door, electronic ignition and digital controls. There is also a domestic-style thermostatic oven and separate grill as well as a built-in 700w microwave. A dual fuel hob with 800w electric hotplate and 3 gas burners are set off by a glass hob lid, next to a sink and drainer with a chrome effect brass mixer tap. There is ample storage space in this area for plates, cups, cutlery etc and the lockers all have positive catches to security whilst on the move.
Opposite the kitchen area, the washroom is very modern and well-equipped, featuring a separate luxurious fully lined shower cubicle and a high performance hot water supply which ensures hot showers on demand. There is a gloss white sink in an attractive vanity unit and a Thetford c-250 casette toilet with electric flush system.
At the rear of the caravan, the bedroom features a desirable 'island'- style bed - no more making up beds or climbing over your partner in the night! The mattress is Swift's 'Ultra Comfort" luxury deep sprung mattress, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. There are more storage lockers and ambient lighting in the bedroom.
With regard to the other equiment inside the caravan, the Swift Challenger 560 is also equipped with a 12v LCD touch control panel for the electrical system, enabling access to battery selection, battery state meter, clock, lighting controls and water pump circuit controls. There are two TV points with 230v, 12v and co-ax sockets, with a Status 530 directional TV aerial and booster providing a strong signal wherever you are camped. A built-in radio/cd/ i-pod connection unit provides entertainment at the touch of a button. There are five 230v sockets, catering for all those phone/tablet chargers which are part of modern life!
There are beautiful LED spotlights in the lounge and sleeping areas, a feature panel with down light and flush-finish mains lights in the corners of the front living area and over-locker ambient flurescent lights, creating a warm and bright living space.
Like all the caravans in the range, the Swift Challenger 560 has the popular Truma 3002 dual fuel blown air heating system, which is thermostatically controlled and directs warm air right through the caravan, which combined with the grade 2 insulation in the caravan, allows for year-round caravanning opportunities.
In lovely condition, with only light use, this caravan will be valeted, fully serviced and damp checked prior to sale, providing peace of mind for its new owner. It has a working Powrtouch motor mover, making pitching and manoeuvring this caravan a piece of cake.
